Property Description :

“Vista del Rio” is a peaceful, colorful property, where you and your family or friends can relax away from the crowds and city noise. Swing in a hammock, read a book, and be serenaded by the running river and birds.

The town of Nosarita is located 12 miles south of Nicoya, off the highway to Playa Samara (just 12 miles south). Situated between the small pueblos (villages) of Caimital and Belen. Nosarita is a village with history going back to the local Indians from many centuries ago. This 14 acre parcel is a working tree and plant farm. We have over 1,200 teak trees, 750 mango trees, as well banana, orange, and numerous other tropical and colorful plants and trees. Both fruit and nut bearing trees bring monkeys, iguanas, Kinkajus and numerous tropical birds to feed on the abundant supply of “safe” natural food. Toucans, parrots, parakeets, etc., enjoy the abundance of food of this property.

A wonderful set of cabins for people wanting to stay and relax. Snowbirds will love this place! It has a convenient location, just 12 miles from Playa Samara or Nicoya. Nice store and restaurant just 2-3 miles away. A peaceful setting among the monkeys, birds and iguanas! Get your reservations in early!

Rental Rates for each apartment:

Minimum rental 3 days

$40/night or $240/week or $900/month for each apartment.

A discount of 10% is given when both apartments are rented simultaneously.

You’ll enjoy a cabin that is one of two separate living units, each housing 2-4 people. If you rent both cabins, you can easily sleep 6-8 people. This is a 15 acre property, which I have slowly developed over the past 8 years. The living units are spacious and air conditioned, with hot water showers (not found everywhere in Costa Rica). The building is about 5 years old, and appointed with most of the features you need to live in comfort- fridge, microwave, coffee pot, large sinks (inside and out), barbecue grill, kitchen tables inside and out. Each apartment is provided with 4 towels and complete bed linens (changed mid week, upon your request) There is one queen size bed, and a trundle bed or couch in each unit, and hot water on-demand in showers. But the main living area is the beautiful front porch, overlooking the fantastic river foliage & wildlife, and the mountain scenery.

“Vista del Rio” is a little bit or tropical paradise and tranquility, just 12 miles from the City (Nicoya- to the north) and the beach (Playa Samara- to the south). Overlooking the Nosara River, looking up at Mt. Santa Elena, this cabin is just what you need to escape the rat race, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

The mountains across the river are frequently cloud-covered, and the sounds of distant monkey howls are very common, when they’re along the river-front, or in our trees. The large porch is the peaceful, relaxing escape you’ve been looking for. With many hammocks and rocking chairs, and a barbecue grill for your favorite meal, it just doesn’t get much better than this.

Climate Note: This area of Costa Rica is defined as a “Tropical Dry Rainforest”, one of the only zones like this in the world. Enough rain falls in the “Green Season” to make it qualify as an actual rainforest. But the uniqueness is the 5 dry months (December-April), where the local trees shed leaves and host flowers that wildlife feed on. The pastures and mountain-side grass areas turn brown. Trees in areas of year-around water (along rivers) stay green and host much of the wildlife. Obviously the native plants survive the “drought” of the dry season and come to life again when the rain starts falling in May. You should witness both of these seasons to enjoy it thoroughly. Typically, the driest months are February and March, and the rainiest (greenest) are September and October.
